I like to take time to thank the viewer from around the world from time to time.
With over 40 different countries tuning in to check of progress on #ProjectSportsRoof and #ProjectBeepBeep I think it’s cool to see such wide-spread interest.

Bill is getting soooooooooo close to having ProjectBeepBeep on the road again. This update takes a look at the brake actuator rod.

First let me say that Bill has been an a long quest to find a car to replace this car:
Back in the day.
It was a long search with lots of phone calls with many car owners. Some of the stories of his search would make a great post, but for now let’s get to his new find, which if you can’t tell in video below, he’s pretty happy about this rare color code car.
His new pride and joy is a H code, 1968 Road Runner and it breaks down like this:
R – Plymouth Belvedere, Satellite (“B” body)
M – Medium price group
23 – 2 door hardtop
H – 383 1-4BBL 8 Cylinder “B” engine (High Performance)
G – St. Louis, Missouri – birth place
It is for the most part as it came from the factory. But I’m going to let Bill cover all the details with you. Here is his first video.

In 1991 and 1992, the Dodge Spirit R/T was the quickest four-door sold in the U.S. and the fastest mass-produced sedan in the world.
The Dodge Charger Hellcat’s rise to the top of the sport sedan segment shouldn’t come as a surprise. Though many were shocked when Dodge had the audacity to build a 707-horsepower grocery-getter, the American automaker has a long-history of catching the automotive industry off guard.
Though few still remember the legend, the Hellcat isn’t the first time Dodge shockingly overthrew Germany’s finest to become king of the sport sedan segment. BMW, Mercedes, and Audi were unquestionably the gold standard of tire-scorching, corner-carving four-doors. But in 1991 and ‘92, Dodge completely embarrassed the German triumvirate with its budget-friendly, front-wheel drive Dodge Spirit.

Let’s get right to the glory and the tragic historical events of this weeks Auto Factoids.
June 10, 1927 the Graham brothers purchased Paige-Detroit Motor Co. These guys started out producing glass and then moved into making conversion kits to turn Model T Fords in to truck. They decided they wanted to produce their own trucks and made a deal with Dodge for the engines and selling their trucks though Dodge. In 1927 they decided they wanted to go into the car business and make the historic purchase of Paige-Detroit Motor for what was $4 million dollars. Renamed Graham-Page, they produced 6 and 8 cylinder cars using their own bodies (after buying Wayne Body Company) and light trucks. Truck production ceases when Dodge threatened to enforce the non-compete clause of the original agreement. Of note was the 8 cylinder engine they developed nicknamed the “Blue Streak”. It soon became the name for the car. Graham brothers produced cars up until 1940 and only used their factory during WWII for various war effort production. By 1946 they were producing cars again and farm equipment under Kaiser-Frazer name. They eventually transferred all the rights to Kaiser-Frazer and their production facilities were sold to Chrysler.
